Course Goals

During this semester I need to try to accomplish several things. As of this posting I seem to be a little incapacitated in terms of moving forward. I came into my office yesterday with the intention of starting to get some things down on paper and I just ended up cleaning up my email files! I am definitely in a "funk". Need to just get back on the old horse an get started!!!
So my goals are:
To gain an understanding of terms and ideas related to theory and how they are expressed and discussed in literature.
To spend time discussing why it is so important to choose one or two theoretical frames as opposed to melding several frames together and having a more eclectic view.
To make choices about theoretical frames that will drive my research and writing.
Which ones should I drop and which ones should I hold onto.
To be better prepared to discuss and be able to write about my own frame(s) and thinking.
To keep on track and produce some writing that will ultimately help in my dissertation
introduction and literature review.
